LASH LIFTing FAQ
Q. What is a lash lift?
A. It’s a semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. Certified technicians use a unique technique combining a lifting lotion and silicone rods to lift your natural lashes. You’ll get curl and volume without that weird kink you sometimes get from clamping down with a curler. No need for eyelash extensions and the associated aftercare. We have had clients who's lashes have improved, gotten healthier, and longer from getting lash lifts! Our formula is conditioning, nourishing, and formaldehyde free!
Q. What is the difference between eyelash extensions and a lash lift?
A. The processes are quite different. We will not be adding additional lashes or harmful adhesives to your eyelashes. You don't have to worry about getting refills when the extensions start to fall out. You can also still use mascara for even more volume or length. If you're looking for some definition without the commitment to continually update your extensions, a lash lift is the perfect solution.
Q. What happens during the lash lift procedure?
A. A technician will start off by placing treatment patches under your eyes. These hold down your bottom lashes so they don't get in the way while your lashes are being lifted. They also are a nice treatment for the under eye area. Next, the technician will apply a very gentle, clear, and non toxic glue to the bottom of a silicone rod and place the rod on your eyelid next to your lashes. Using the same glue, the lashes are gently pulled up onto the rod and separated one by one with a safe eyelash tool. Once all the lashes are pulled back, the lift formula is placed on the lashes with a tiny brush from the root to 3/4 way up the lash. This sits for 5-8 minutes and is then wiped off with a cotton swab. Then, the setting solution is brushed on the lashes the same way as the lifting solution. It sits for 5-8 minutes, then is wiped off with a cotton swab. A wet cotton swab and/or cotton pad is then used to dissolve the glue and remove the lashes off of the rod. The rod is also removed from your lid with water. A technician will finish by combing through the lashes and using a mini fan to dry them off.
Q. How long will the lash lift last?
A. A lash lift typically lasts 3-9 weeks but can vary from person to person. There is no need for any maintenance appointments in between but you will need to have the process repeated every 3-9 weeks to lift the new hair growth. High temperatures, makeup, sleeping positions, and skin care products are just a few things that can affect the outcome and length of time your lash lift can last. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 3 weeks if you would like, or you can wait until they are completely back to their natural state which is typically 3-9 weeks.
Q. Can I get a lash tint the same day I get a lash lift?
A. You can definitely get a lash tint the same day you get a lash lift. In fact, most people do! We apply the tint after the lash lift.
Q. Can I wear makeup and mascara while I have a lash lift?
A. Yes! However, we strongly recommend you avoid waterproof mascara and any harsh products around your eye area.
Q. How long does it take to get a lash lift?
A. A lash lift will approximately take 40 minutes.
Q. Is a lash lift the same as an eyelash perm?
A. No. The lash lift is a new, improved procedure. By ditching the old fashioned, painful perm rollers which over-curled the lashes, the new, comfortable silicone rods used lift the lashes from the root in either a upwards fashion that produces length and a bright eyed enhanced look. The formulas used now are safe, non-damaging, and contain beneficial ingredients.
Q. Can I get a lash lift if I have short eyelashes?
A. Most of the time, yes. Though it can be challenging if the lashes aren't even long enough to bring up and back on to the rod. Some people find that long lashes or not, it makes their eyes appear more open and awake. But we say, give it a shot once and see how you do!
Q. Does the lash lift procedure hurt?
A. Very few people have a reaction to the products we use, but that doesn't mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why we offer patch tests 24 hours beforehand. However, it is not required. Otherwise, both procedures are totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment. Many clients actually fall asleep!
Q. Will the lash lift damage my natural eyelashes?
A. Absolutely not. Our technicians are highly trained and we use extensively tested formulations.
Q. Are there any forms I need to fill out for my appointment?
A. Yes! Prior to getting a lash lift you are required to complete a lash lift waiver and release form. To save yourself time we recommend and would appreciate if you are able to print and fill them out prior to your appointment. Click here to find your form.
Q. How often can I get a lash lift?
A. A lash lift will begin to naturally drop after about 2 months and your lashes will be back to their natural look. The lashes should drop evenly and will not look out of place. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of one month if you feel you need to, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.
Q. Can I bring my child to my appointment?
A. We understand how challenging it is finding time for yourself. However, our policy prohibits unsupervised children in the salon & store. In the event you must bring a young child into the salon, please provide proper supervision for them in the form of an additional caretaker. If you bring a tablet for your children, please also have headphones available as not to distract other guests. Please remember this is a public space where people come (and pay) to relax. While this policy helps ensure that all guests enjoy a relaxing salon experience, it was created with your child's safety in mind. We have a storefront with small items, as well as a busy parking lot and when it is nice out we often leave the front door open. We also have chemicals and sharp implements in our service rooms. We cannot be held responsible for injuries or damages to personal belongings in our salon as a result of unsupervised children. We also greatly appreciate if noise is kept to a minimum due to other clients receiving relaxing services. Thank you for understanding.

A. We recommend each customer consult with their personal physician prior to having a lash lift if you: are pregnant, nursing, have chronic dry eye, have recently undergone chemotherapy, or have recently had Lasik or blepharoplasty surgery.
A lash lift may not be for you if you: have damaged lashes, lashes with gaps, or have extremely short natural lashes.
A lash lift should not be done if you: have conjunctivitis, eye infections, trichotillomania, or other medical conditions.
