LASH LIFT & TINT FAQ
Q. What is a lash lift?
A. It’s a semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. Certified technicians use a unique technique combining a lifting lotion and silicone rods to lift your natural lashes. You’ll get curl and volume without that weird kink you sometimes get from clamping down with a curler. No need for eyelash extensions and the associated aftercare. We have had clients who's lashes have improved, gotten healthier, and longer from getting lash lifts! Our formula is conditioning, nourishing, and formaldehyde free!
Q. What is a lash tint?
A. The lash tint gives your lashes a long-lasting mascara effect without the hassle of smudging, running, or clumping lashes. A lash tint is also great for those who have naturally light colored (blonde, gray, light brown) lashes.
Q. Can I just get a lash lift or lash tint? Do I have to get both at the same time?
A. You don't have to get both a lift and tint done at the same time, but you can if you would like!
Q. What is the difference between eyelash extensions and a lash lift?
A. The processes are quite different. We will not be adding additional lashes or harmful adhesives to your eyelashes. You don't have to worry about getting refills when the extensions start to fall out. You can also still use mascara for even more volume or length. If you're looking for some definition without the commitment to continually update your extensions, a lash lift is the perfect solution.
Q. How long will the lash lift last?
A. A lash lift typically lasts 6-8 weeks but can vary from person to person. There is no need for any maintenance appointments in between but you will need to have the process repeated every 6-8 weeks to lift the new hair growth. There are some situations that may cause the lift to drop/weaken prematurely. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of 1 month (3 weeks) if you feel the need to, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state which is typically 6-8 weeks.
Q. How long will the lash tint last?
A. The tint typically lasts 6-8 weeks fading gradually.
Q. Can I wear makeup and mascara while I have a lash lift or tint?
A. Yes! However, we strongly recommend you avoid waterproof mascara and any harsh products around your eye area.
Q. How long does it take to get a lash lift?
A. A lash lift will approximately take 40 minutes.
Q. How long does it take to get a lash tint?
A. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes.
Q. Is a lash lift the same as an eyelash perm?
A. No. The Lash lift is a new, improved procedure, overcoming the ‘over curled’ look of its predecessor . Whilst the chemical procedure is identical to a perm, the difference is in the results. By ditching the old fashioned perm rollers which curled back the lashes to the extent of the ‘dolly look’, the silicone pads used for this new procedure lifts the lash from the root in either a straight or curled, upwards fashion that produces length and a bright eyed enhanced look. This is not the typical lash perm you may have heard about in the 80s! Historically, lash perms used tiny curlers on your lashes along with a strong solution. The lash lift has come a long way since then; each lash is lifted one-by-one at the root, which allows them to look longer and, well, lifted! The solution is designed to be more nourishing for your lashes.
Q. Can I get a lash lift if I have short eyelashes?
A. Most of the time, yes. Though it can be challenging if the lashes aren't even long enough to bring up and back on to the shield. But we say, give it a shot once and see how you do!
Q. Does the lash lift or tint procedure hurt?
A. Very few people have a reaction to the products we use, but that doesn't mean you won’t be one of them. What one person reacts to, another is fine with. This is why we offer patch tests 24 hours beforehand. However, it is not required. Otherwise, both procedures are totally painless. You will have your eyes closed for the entire treatment and although it may feel a little strange being unable to open your eyes for this time, it offers you a chance to relax during the treatment. Many clients actually fall asleep!
Q. Will the lash lift or tint damage my natural eyelashes?
A. Absolutely not. Our technicians are highly trained and we use extensively tested formulations.
Q. How often can I get a lash lift or tint?
A. A lash lift will begin to naturally drop after about 2 months and your lashes will be back to their natural look. The lashes should drop evenly and will not look out of place. You can repeat the treatment after a minimum of one month if you feel you need to, or you can wait until they are back to their natural state.
Q. Who should NOT get a lash lift or tint?
A. We recommend each customer consult with their personal physician prior to having a lash lift and/or lash tint if you: are pregnant, nursing, have chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis, eye infections, trichotillomania, have recently undergone chemotherapy, or have recently had Lasik or blepharoplasty surgery. A lash lift and/or lash tint may not be for you if you: have damaged lashes or lashes with gaps or have extremely short natural lashes.
Q. Is a waiver required and where can I review it?
A. Yes, a waiver is required. You can view it here. You may print it out and bring it in with you or fill one out when you arrive for your appointment.
